Yes. Lab-grown diamonds are officially recognised as real diamonds by leading international standards. In 2018, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) revised its definition of “diamond” to include lab-grown diamonds — acknowledging that they are chemically and physically identical to mined diamonds. This recognition has since shaped the global jewellery industry’s standards, making lab-grown diamonds not just accepted, but celebrated for their beauty, integrity, and innovation.

The value increases with purity. 9K gold contains just 37.5% gold, 14K has 58.5%, and 18K gold contains 75% pure gold — giving it a richer hue and superior long-term durability. 18K gold is typically around twice the value of 9K gold.

Lab-grown diamonds are typically laser-inscribed with their IGI report number along the girdle for traceability and assurance. However, coloured gemstones — such as emeralds, sapphires, and rubies — are rarely inscribed, as the process is more delicate and not commonly applied.
