Lab Grown Paraíba Garnet

Lab grown Paraiba garnets capture the electric blue-green glow once found only in the rarest Paraiba tourmalines. Vivid, luminous, and utterly distinctive, they bring this extraordinary colour into reach — crafted with care and integrity for modern jewellery that feels both rare and timeless.

Lab Grown Paraíba Garnet

What are lab grown Paraíba garnets?

Lab grown Paraiba garnets are inspired by the legendary Paraiba tourmalines, first discovered in Brazil and celebrated for their neon-like, oceanic glow. While natural Paraibas are among the rarest and most expensive gemstones in the world, their lab-created counterparts recreate the same breathtaking hue in a more accessible, sustainable way.

Chemically and optically, they are real garnets — durable, brilliant, and radiant — with the defining turquoise-to-neon blue colour that makes them so sought after. With a lab-grown origin, they offer both the beauty of rarity and the peace of mind of traceable, ethical creation.

  • Accessible rarity

Natural Paraiba gemstones are among the rarest and most expensive in the world, often out of reach for most. Lab-grown Paraiba garnets recreate that same dazzling, neon-like glow — making this once unattainable beauty accessible without compromise.

  • Sustainability created

Free from mining, each lab-grown Paraiba garnet is crafted in a controlled environment with traceable origins, meaning you can enjoy its rare brilliance with peace of mind.

  • Distinctly unique

Unlike mass-produced imitations, every Paraiba garnet we select displays the depth, vibrancy, and “alive with light” character that makes this gem so extraordinary. It’s a choice for those who want something truly different.

Why Choose Lab Grown Paraiba Garnet?

Rare beauty, re-imagined

The 4Cs of Keanis lab grown Paraiba garnet

At Keanis, we apply the same care and precision to our Paraiba garnets as we do to our finest diamonds. Guided by our interpretation of the 4Cs — Colour, Clarity, Craft, and Confidence—we ensure each stone radiates with extraordinary vibrancy, refined beauty, and trusted quality.

01 colour

Striking and unmistakable

The hallmark of a Paraiba garnet is its vivid, glowing blue-green hue. At Keanis, we select only the most vibrant shades, ensuring your stone radiates with the same captivating energy as the rarest natural Paraibas.

02 Clarity

Luminous and refined

Our stones are chosen for their transparency and internal glow, free from the cloudiness that can dull colour. Each one reflects light beautifully, letting the unique hue shine at its brightest.

03 Craft

Precision in every cut

We cut every Paraiba garnet to maximise its brilliance and highlight the depth of its neon glow. The result is a gem that feels alive with light from every angle — crafted with artistry and intention.

04 Confidence

Quality you can trust

Each lab Paraiba garnet is IGI-certified, verifying its authenticity, quality, and unique colour. At Keanis, we hold our stones to the highest standards, so you can wear this extraordinary gem with complete confidence.

More about lab grown Paraiba garnet

  • Paraiba tourmaline is one of the rarest and most sought-after gemstones in the world. First discovered in the late 1980s in the Brazilian state of Paraíba, it immediately captivated the jewellery world with its vibrant, neon-like blue and green hues, unlike anything seen before.

What makes Paraiba tourmalines exceptionally rare is the unique combination of copper and manganese in their crystal structure — elements responsible for their distinctive electric glow. The original Brazilian mines were quickly depleted, and while some deposits have since been found in Mozambique and Nigeria, true Brazilian Paraibas remain incredibly scarce and valuable.

Because of their rarity, even small Paraiba stones can command exceptionally high prices, making them one of the most expensive coloured gemstones by carat weight.

  • Natural Paraiba tourmalines are among the rarest gemstones in the world — prized for their electric blue-green glow, but often extremely expensive and difficult to source. Their colour can also vary significantly from stone to stone.

Keanis lab-grown Paraiba garnets are crafted using YAG (Yttrium Aluminium Garnet), chosen for its ability to mirror the vivid hue and luminous clarity of fine natural Paraibas, while offering greater consistency, durability, and accessibility.

Though not chemically identical, the visual effect is remarkably close — especially in terms of colour intensity, light performance, and polish — making them a compelling choice for those seeking rare beauty without the limitations of rarity or cost.

  • YAG stands for Yttrium Aluminium Garnet, a lab-grown gemstone known for its exceptional brilliance, hardness, and colour stability. It is also cherished in fine jewellery for its diamond-like sparkle and robust durability.

At Keanis, we select YAG for our lab-grown Paraiba garnets because it offers a stunning representation of the vivid neon blues and greens traditionally associated with natural Paraiba tourmaline — yet with greater durability and accessibility. With a Mohs hardness of 8–8.5, YAG is highly scratch-resistant and ideal for everyday wear.

Unlike other simulated or coated stones, YAG is a solid, single-crystal material, meaning the colour runs throughout the gem — offering enduring beauty without the need for surface treatments or enhancement.

  • No — the vivid colour of your lab-grown Paraiba Garnet is here to stay. These stones are created to maintain their striking neon glow over time, with excellent colour stability under normal wear and care. With proper jewellery care and storage, your Paraiba Garnet will remain just as captivating as the day you received it.

  • Carat is a measure of weight, not size — and different gemstones have different densities. This means that two stones with the same dimensions may have very different carat weights depending on the material. That’s why at Keanis, we list dimensions for coloured gemstones, as this provides a more helpful and visual guide to how the stone will look when worn.

  • Gemstones are often cut with greater depth — particularly in the pavilion, or lower half — to enhance their colour. Unlike diamonds, where brilliance is the primary goal, coloured gemstones rely on body colour for beauty. A slightly deeper cut allows light to interact with the stone in a way that intensifies and enriches the hue, giving your gemstone a more vivid and captivating appearance.

  • Lab-grown diamonds are typically laser-inscribed with their IGI report number along the girdle for traceability and assurance. However, coloured gemstones — such as emeralds, sapphires, and rubies — are rarely inscribed, as the process is more delicate and not commonly applied.

If you'd like to confirm the stone, it's common practice to cross-check that the stone's specifications match the details listed on the certificate.

  • Yes — our lab-grown Paraiba Garnets are crafted from Yttrium Aluminium Garnet (YAG), which has a Mohs hardness of 8 to 8.5, making them highly scratch-resistant and well-suited for daily wear. While they're durable, we still recommend caring for them as you would any fine gemstone: store them separately, avoid harsh chemicals, and clean gently with warm soapy water and a soft cloth.
