This means that two stones with the same dimensions may have very different carat weights depending on the material. That’s why at Keanis, we list dimensions for coloured gemstones, as this provides a more helpful and visual guide to how the stone will look when worn.

Unlike diamonds, where brilliance is the primary goal, coloured gemstones rely on body colour for beauty. A slightly deeper cut allows light to interact with the stone in a way that intensifies and enriches the hue, giving your gemstone a more vivid and captivating appearance.
Lab-grown diamonds are typically laser-inscribed with their IGI report number along the girdle for traceability and assurance. However, coloured gemstones — such as emeralds, sapphires, and rubies — are rarely inscribed, as the process is more delicate and not commonly applied.
